Beginning 10 April 2015, Garuda Indonesia will launch its direct flights linking Manado, capital of North Sulawesi, - famed for its spectacular dive sites of Bunaken. the Lembeh Strait, and cute tarsiers - with Bali, Indonesia's world renowned tourist destination.
The route will be served daily by Boeing 737-800 New Generation (NG) aircrafts having a capacity for 162 passengers, with 150 seats in economy and 12 in Business class, said Dedy Irawan, Garuda GM for North Sulawesi at the Sam Ratulangi International Airport of Manado, reports Bisnis Indonesia.
Ticket fare costs Rp. 1.2 million one way that already includes taxes and airport tax.
Dedy Irawan is confident that the people of Manado welcome the direct route, as even today, many already choose to holiday in Bali. Additionally diving aficionados and international tourists in general can now conveniently combine Manado with a visit to Bali, without having to transit Jakarta or Makassar.
And, to further link the city of Manado with other cities in the province, Garuda plans to open 4 new close-range flights from Manado to Gorontalo, Manado-Luwuk, Manado_Melonguane and Manado Kao, using ATR 72-600 aircrafts with a capacity for 72 passengers.
