Unveiling some of the most pristine wonders of the Indonesian waters, the Indonesia International Maritime Festival 2014 will be held for the first time ever from 28th March to 4 April 2014 in the Riau islands of Batam, Natuna, andAnambas.
The festival will be held in conjunction with the Multilateral Naval Exercise Komodo 2014 in which 17 countries will be participating including Indonesia, Singapore, Malaysia, Brunei, Thailand, Vietnam, Laos, Myanmar, the Philippines, Cambodia, the People’s Republic of China, Russia, South Korea, Australia, New Zealand, Japan, India, and the United States of America.
The Indonesia International Maritime Festival (IIMF) is the first event that integrates all aspects related to maritime activities comprising Maritime Hospitality and Tourism, Maritime Transportation, Maritime Aviation, Maritime Sports, Marine Biodiversity, Marine Biopharmaceuticals, Maritime Security and Safety, Maritime Exploration, Maritime Fishing, Maritime Shipyards and Offshore, Maritime Mining, Maritime Science and Applications, and also Maritime Investment and Development. Elaborating all aspects in the maritime sector, the festival is aimed to create maritime awareness, investments, and development in Indonesia and the wider region. Thus, the region can elevate its blue economy and industry for better welfare, in addition to strengthening friendship among countries through the diverse programs in the festival.
The Festival will present an Expo and Trade Fair featuring a multitude of exhibitors in various fields of maritime activities. IIMF 2014 will also feature 2 conferences: the International Hospitality Investment 2014 andInternational Integrated Maritime Transportation Solution which will address the latest development in maritime related industries. Aside from Exhibition and Conferences, the festival will be highlighted with other exciting activities including: an International Maritime Triathlon 2014; Multilateral Naval Dragon Boat Race; Multilateral Naval Music Corps Parade; Heritage Sports Games; Culinary Experience and Multilateral Chefs Battle; “JADDDE” Jazz, Dive, Dance & DJ Entertainment; and more.
IIMF 2014 is presented by Mare Nostrum Indonesia (Licensee of Mare Nostrum Enterprise) in collaboration with the Indonesian NAVY and is fully supported by the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy. The Festival targets an audience of 3,800 international tourists per day and also 20,000 attendance during the 3 day expo.
There are frequent daily ferries connecting Singapore’s Tanah Merah port with Batam as well as between Johor Bahru, Malaysia, and Batam; the journey from Singapore taking a pleasant 45 minutes. From the capital city Jakarta, there are flights to Batam served by various airlines including Garuda Indonesia, Citilink, Sriwijaya Air, and Lion Air. While Anambas and the Natuna Islands are also served by scheduled flights from Batam, and Tanjung Pinang on Bintan Island.
